May 2017, fresh-faced and very privileged to have spent the evening with the then International President of Toastmasters, Mike Storkey, responsible for over 300k members in over 120 countries around the world. I was at the time the president of The Toast Rack, a corporate Toastmasters club at Rackspace in London.
And so from one President to another, I was also given the opportunity to perform an impromptu speech, with literally five minutes to prepare, please take a look at what I came up with.
I now title this speech PIES and give myself a chuckle at the confidence I had to step up, the humility in my topic and coolness in the delivery. The content also rings true for me today and was a much-needed boost I needed to see and hear, from my former self… funny how the world works sometimes.
