π Honored to have attended the UK Ministry of Defence 10th Diwali Event onboard HMS Warrior 1860 in Portsmouth! π Hosted by the Royal Navy, the evening was a celebration of shared heritage, bringing together the vibrant tapestry of cultures that make our Armed Forces stronger. π€
The Royal Marines Band Service treated us to an unforgettable musical performance, setting the perfect tone for an evening filled with camaraderie and cultural exchange. πΆ The fireworks lighting up the jetty added a magical touch to the festivities, absolutely astonishing! π
Insightful and inspiring speeches by all and a further highlight for me was sitting across the table from First Sea Lord, Admiral Sir Ben Key KCB CBE ADC, whose stories of charity and travel were inspiring and memorable.
What made the evening truly special was the presence of many prominent members of the Hindu community, coming together to celebrate Diwali in the heart of the Royal Navy. πͺ Their contributions and commitment to our shared heritage were evident, fostering a sense of unity and pride.
Grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this incredible event!
